    Students taking this course must have scored satisfactory or higher on the 10th EOC reading and writing and be prepared for challenging literature and analytical reasoning skills

    ·               All ELA pre-AP and AP courses have required summer reading and projects. In order to be successful in this program students are required to turn in complete assignments the first days of school. Those not completing assignments to guidelines will be removed from the course.

    ·               Please remember not all classes are offered every academic year on electives based on need and number JISD reserves the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment or if a certified teacher is unavailable to teach the course.

    ·               SCHEDULE CHANGES all schedule changes will be final the first week of school with the exception of AP. Any student wishing to exit an AP course must do so prior to the end of the third week of school after the third week students may not exit until end of a semester.

    Grade Classification

    After the 9thgrade, students are classified according to the number of credits earned

     toward graduation.

    Senior             18 credits earned
