ASSISTANT BAND DIRECTOR

Job Description: 
Junction ISD is searching for an Assistant Band Director for the 2023-24 academic year.
Our ideal candidate is an excellent team player with a growth mindset centered on student-learning and outcomes. The Assistant Band Director will be responsible for teaching 4 th and 5 th grade music in addition to overseeing 6 th and 7 th grade band students while also assisting at the high school level. Band students in grades 6-12 will be co-taught with the head band director. Other duties and responsibilities will be designated by the head band director.
The Assistant Band Director is expected to attend all outside activities such as, but not limited to: summer band activities and practices, sectionals, after-school rehearsals, concerts, football games, and any contests throughout the summer and/or school year.

Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject area(s) assigned
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrated competency in the subject area(s) assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
 
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
Percussion or brass specialist
Knowledge of colorguard coordination/execution

Salary Range: 
To be determined based on the District’s Salary Scale
