Answers to your FAQ's
• Learning begins at 8:00 AM and dismissal begins at 3:30PM. Kinder dismisses at 3PM.
• Students may be dropped off after 7:30AM in front of the elementary building. The cafeteria and gym open at 7:30AM to provide breakfast and supervision.
• If your child is ill and will be absent, call the office at 446-2055. Absences exceeding 3 in a semester must have a doctor’s note to be considered excused.
• Notify the office with any change in phone numbers or addresses.
• Birthday invitations brought to school must include all class members and will be handed out by the teacher at the end of the day.
• We ask that you do not bring birthday treats as it can be upsetting to students whose parents are not able to do the same.
• Flowers and gifts will be delivered to the classroom after 2PM.
• Perfect Attendance is reached with no absences and fewer than 3 tardies per semester.
• A -Honor Roll status is achieved with A’s in all classes every six weeks.
• Cell phones must remain off and in backpacks. Teachers will turn any electronic devices, observed during school hours, into the office.
• Students violating the dress code will be given appropriate attire for the day.
• All medication must be given to the nurse in the original container accompanied with a note from the parent.
• All students must pass math and reading to be promoted to the next grade. Fifth graders must pass the Reading and Math TAKS to be promoted to sixth grade.
• Learning opportunities cannot be recreated. Please make appointments outside the school day if at all possible.
• Progress reports or report cards are sent home every three weeks. Grades are available on-line, 24 hours a day, for up-to-date information.
