Yes that can be possible. Whether you have a family, just
missed out on an opportunity to further your education in the past,
have some college hours, or are just graduating from high school
and would like to pursue a college degree; Junction ISD, Texas Tech
University, and Central Texas College are
combining their resources to help widen the avenues for those
willing to embrace the educational challenge and reap the rewards,
which are made possible through higher education.
There are many ways to enter college programs and I encourage each
person to look into the possibilities and options for college
entrance before deciding that it may be impossible.
There are requirements, but most all entrance requirements, such as
the SAT/ACT, and THEA tests have preparatory trainings or placement
tests, which are easily accessible and fashioned to help anyone
with the desire, achieve their goals.
Texas Tech has a program designed for those who would like to
pursue a career in teaching kindergarten through 6th
grade. Although, this is not the only degree plan available, it is
the one being spotlighted as the educational entities attempt to
provide career opportunities for residents in Junction and the
surrounding area.
A representative who will be able to answer any questions and help
those interested in the K-6th grade teaching program
take the first steps to a new career will travel to Junction when a
minimum of ten people commit to meeting with the educational
representative.
The commitment to attend the meeting does not obligate you to
enroll in college or the program but provides an opening to explore
the choices you do have to live and work in Junction and also
obtain your college degree.
In order to receive notification of this meeting or if you have any
questions you will need to contact Dr. Renee Schulze at Junction
ISD at 325 446-3510 or 325 446-3580 and place your name on the
list.
The
meeting has been scheduled for
February 28 at 4:00 pm
in the Middle School Library.
