Goal #1  Facilities

>Continue improvements on facilities to include cafeteria, high school, middle school gym dressing rooms, and maintenance/bus barn.

 >Continually evaluate facilities for the process of developing long-range goals.

Goal #2  Morale and Pride

Create a Positive District Climate for Students and Staff

 A.    Students:

>Make schools personal—Build relationships

>Provide each student with an adult advocate.

>Develop an incentives program: reward what you want.

>Reduce student office referrals.

 

B.     Teachers:

>Develop a shared vision through shared leadership, decision making, and problem solving.

Goal #3  Academics

A.  Curriculum:

>Work with staff to implement curriculum that is challenging, rigorous, and individualized to address student needs.

>Improve college preparatory program.

>Increase teacher dialog about spiraling curriculum, lesson design, learning walls, and literacy.

>Provide guidance to prepare students for college readiness by using goal setting and post secondary plans of every student.

>Increase student numbers receiving commended performance on 2007-2008 TAKS.

>Increase number of students taking PSAT test.

>Increase student numbers and student achievement on SAT and ACT.

>Increase student participation in Academic UIL.

B.    Teachers:

>Provide Staff Development that fosters a professional working environment.

>Build Professional Learning Communities that learn together.

>Provide new teacher institute.

    C.    Assessment:

>Ensure frequent analysis of assessment data to drive instruction.

>Continue to make decisions based on data analysis and leadership team discussions.

>Monitor what is important.  Mandate accountability for students and faculty.

Goal #4  Finance

>Provide the necessary financial resources for the support of the instructional program through prudent management and financial responsibility.

>Ensure all expenses are cost-effective and appropriately accounted for and within the approved budget.

>Monitor student absences.

>Prioritize large budget expenses.

>Continue to keep the Board informed on all matters pertaining to the expenditure of the District funds.

Goal # 5  Community and Parent Involvement

>Increase the number of people responding to surveys.

>Encourage volunteer participation on all campuses through community organizations and PTO.

>Increase parent participation: host student showcase nights.

>Increase direct effective communication between school and parent.

>Support a mutual respect between families and school.

>Continue to expand Parent Connection so that parents have timely online access to data and information in order to increase collaboration and communication between parents and school district.

>Improve public support and confidence in schools.
